Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male is the "party beast" of the JPG lineup. Released in 2015 as an intense, modernized flanker to the 1995 original Le Male, it has earned a reputation for being one of the loudest, sweetest, and most complimented clubbing fragrances on the market.

Created by master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, Ultra Male is an Oriental Fougere that focuses on a "bubblegum" sweetness balanced by spicy and woody undertones.  

• Top Notes: Juicy Pear, Lavender, Mint, Bergamot, and Lemon.  

• Heart Notes: Cinnamon, Clary Sage, and Caraway (Cumin).

How it smells:

It opens with a blast of synthetic pear and mint that gives it a sweet, fruity, "blue" vibe. As it dries down, the cinnamon and vanilla take over, creating a warm, spicy, and incredibly sugary trail. It’s often described as smelling like gourmet bubblegum.

There has been constant chatter about Ultra Male being discontinued to make room for newer hits like Le Male Elixir. As of early 2026:

• Availability: While rumored to be "retired" soon, it is still appearing on the official JPG website and at major retailers, though stock can be intermittent.

• The Competitor: Afnan 9pm is the most famous "clone" if you want the same vibe for a lower price.

• Ultra Male vs. Elixir: While Ultra Male is fruity and "bubblegum" sweet, Le Male Elixir is darker, heavier on honey and tobacco, and feels slightly more mature.
